What is cold saponification?
A solid soap is the result of a chemical reaction between a fat/oil and an alkali base (caustic soda). Cold saponification is an environmentally friendly soap manufacturing process that naturally retains glycerine in the soap and thus guarantees maximum hydration. To make soap using cold saponification, it is necessary to let the chemical reaction run until the oil or caustic soda is completely drained. A cold soap is very gentle on the skin. Enriched with vegetable oils and its active ingredients a “cold” soap cares for your body and complements your daily moisturizing. The skin is nourished, softer and more supple.
What is a surgras soap?
A surgras soap is a mild soap enriched in fatty materials, such as; vegetable oils, vegetable butters or glycerine. With a surplus of fatty material in the formula, some of the vegetable oil does not turn completely into soap and remains an oil. To maintain hydration, the oil is not be completely rinsed off and forms a protective layer on the skin. In this case, the 5% surgras is an excess of baobab, castor and coconut vegetable oils, after manufacturing. Thanks to the fatty acids these oils naturally contain they nourish and protect the skin.
Wet the soap with water and work a rich lather. Rub gently onto the skin and rinse. For more lather, use a special konjac body sponge or shower flower.
Rinse well after application. Avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly.
Tip for recycling soap when there is very little left:
• Recreate an exfoliating homemade soap by melting the remaining soap in a saucepan, with a little water, add some exfoliating ingredients according to your inspiration: tea, coffee, oats and/or dried lavender flowers, etc… Once transformed into liquid paste, pour the mixture into a silicone mould. Wait 48 hours to unmould your new soap.
